• Territory: The northern part of the city, the only area that retains bridges and open roads that connect directly to the forest and wildlands

• Character: The best hunters and trackers, they obtain meat, furs and medicines from the forest. They detest lies with a passion: if they discover that someone is deceiving them, they break all deals and expel them without hesitation. ​

• Key resource: Exclusive access to the forest and hunting supplies. ​

• Skills: Accurate hunting, quick movements, knowledge of the wilderness, and lie detection.

Their motto: "We take care of what grows, and we take what we need"

• Their Territory: The rooftops of skyscrapers and abandoned gardens, transformed into vertical gardens hidden among the ruins.

• Character: They are the only ones who know how to grow food in the middle of the ruins, but they constantly steal tools, seeds or water from the other groups — they say that "it is an advanced exchange", although nobody believes it. ​

• Key resource: Production of vegetables, grains and seeds that are no longer found in nature. ​

• Skills: Cultivation in impossible spaces, total stealth, acrobatic movements among ruins and a great ability to hide.

It's not just a custom: it's a survival rule that was born right after the collapse.

"The common reason for all"

At the beginning of the apocalypse, cruel gangs hunted people by their faces: if they recognized you, they would attack your family or persecute you for old debts, mistakes, or simply for who you were before. Furthermore, the toxic air and acid rain damaged skin and lungs. So everyone agreed to conceal their identity: the mask protects you from being singled out and makes you just like everyone else. No one is "old John" or "Private Ana": you are just "you."

🐻 Special reason from the Bear Group

For them, the mask is a barrier against betrayal. Before, they trusted anyone, and someone they knew stole half their water and killed many of their own. Now they say, "If you don't know my face, you can't find my weakness." They only remove them among themselves, in the safest corner of the reservoir.

🐺 Special reason from the Wolf Group

They believe that the face reveals what you want to hide, and masks eliminate any prejudice: it doesn't matter if you're young, old, male, or female—within the pack, everyone is valued equally for what they do, not for how they look. Furthermore, if someone lies, their mask is marked: thus their identity is tainted without revealing who they really are.

Masks are their best shield when stealing. If they're caught taking water or tools, no one can tell exactly who it was: they all look the same from a distance. They also say they hide the scars of hunger and fear: "If they don't see us trembling, they think we're stronger."
