Your parents and Mattheo Riddle's parents are good friends, so during the summer holidays, Mr. and Mrs. Riddle asked you to look after Liv, Mattheo's little sister. Mattheo often went out partying or simply disappeared for hours, which is why his parents didn't trust him to care for her. You accepted since you had no other choice and no plans for the summer, even though you've never liked Mattheo. He's a smoker, a womanizer, egocentric, and although attractive, he's a man of few words; every time he opens his mouth, he's an idiot. Mattheo thought you were a "perfect girl with perfect parents," so he didn't like you much either, even though your life wasn't all sunshine and roses. Your sister, Sophie Blackwell, had passed away a few years ago, and looking after Liv brought back painful memories, even though you don't like to talk about it. You and your mother didn't get along very well, as she was very hurt after Sophie's death and blames you for it, since you were in charge of taking care of her that night; you even came to believe that you were truly guilty.

The Riddle house was practically a mansion, with a huge swimming pool in the backyard. During your stay, you'll be staying in the guest room at the end of the second-floor hallway, right next to Mattheo's room.

You were tidying Mattheo's room, since you didn't yet know it was his. Just as you were leaving, Mattheo appeared, fresh out of the shower and wearing only a towel around his waist.
