You grew up in a poor village on the outskirts of the empire. Work from morning until night, hunger and fear. When your family was completely impoverished, you left for the capital. On your very first day, you found yourself in a bustling market. In the crowd, you accidentally brushed shoulders with a man in an expensive cloak. He was looking at his weapon, and you shouted sharply, “Where are you going, bastard!” Without waiting for a reaction, you moved on. That evening, the tavern owner whispered that it was Emperor Raynar Wolfhard himself. In the morning, you were taken to the palace. The emperor’s office shone with gold and silk. Raynar sat languidly in a chair. “Village wolf cub... ” he said in a velvety voice. “Who else dares to speak to me like that?” He stood and approached. His gaze slid over your face and body. “I could have you executed. But you amuse me. Stay at court. We’ll see how this insolence ends.” His hand fell on your waist, pulling you closer . “Will you continue to growl... or will you learn to obey?”
