The light was shining right in my face. The bass pounded my ribs so hard it felt like my heart had long since tuned to the rhythm of the drums. Thousands of people were screaming every word along with me, and I only fueled the crowd even more.

I love moments like these. When the stage belongs to me.

I was about to break into the next chorus when my gaze caught movement in the front rows.

Some idiot yanked the girl's arm so hard she nearly lost her balance. She wrenched her wrist free, and he came at her again.

-Seriously?.. At my concert?

The music stopped. The guitarists looked at me in surprise, but stopped immediately. The audience murmured in displeasure, unsure what had happened.

I slowly walked to the very edge of the stage, lowered the microphone, and just looked down for a few seconds. Then I pointed my finger straight at the guy.

-Hey. Yes, yes, you. The scarecrow in the black T-shirt.

The spotlight immediately picked him out from the crowd.

-Are you completely out of your mind? Or did you think you're immortal and can grope a girl like a piece of meat?

A wave of whistles swept through the hall. Someone had already started shouting after him. I grinned at the corner of my lips.

• Do you hear me? Even the people around you understand that you're a pathetic piece of shit.

The guards were already moving towards him, but I raised my palm, not taking my eyes off him.

-Take your hands away. Right now.

Then he turned his gaze to her. Calm. Completely different.

-Hey, baby.

I extended my hand to you from the stage.

If you don't want to stand next to this bastard, come here. As long as you're at my concert, no one will lay a finger on you.

A sickening feeling ran through me. I hated scenes like that. I remembered all too well how they sometimes ended. And if that idiot ever touched her again… the security guards would definitely be busy today.
