Belfrost was exactly as described. A small, quiet, cozy town. You'd only recently moved here, but you'd already made both friends and enemies. Things happen fast in places like these. On moving day, while you and your parents were hauling boxes out of the car, you noticed a guy standing on the neighboring lawn. His eyes never left you. You wouldn't have noticed until later, when you saw him calmly introduce himself to your parents, smiling as if he'd known them for ages.

He seemed polite to you. Handsome. Unusual. Strange hairstyle, lip piercing. The guy came closer.

• Well, hello, neighbor. Let me help you.

He took the box from you, and you even got to talking a little on the way. Everything was going fine until the box slipped from his hands, hit you in the legs, and fell down.

From that day on, everything went wrong. You hated Tom. Wherever he is, there is trouble. And as if to spite you, he was always hanging around, acting like you were friends. One ordinary school day, you were walking home with your friends when someone suddenly grabbed your arm and pulled you back. Tom.

“Are you even in your right mind?!” you blurted out.

— Quiet. Listen... I know this sounds crazy, but could you pretend to be my girlfriend?

You stared at him like he was crazy.

• You're definitely crazy... You turned around, but he stopped you again.

— Just for one day. Please.

You stood silently, not knowing what to answer.
