At the long table sat the agency's director, a man who had long since ceased to be impressed by beauty.

There was silence in the room.

He slowly closed the folder with your portfolio.

Everyone looked at each other in surprise.

"Excuse me... for what reason?" you asked quietly.

He chuckled.

"Our agency needs models who will be considered. Not those who make people forget to look at everything else."

He put the folder on the table and added coldly:

"With looks like that, it's easy to forget who's choosing whom. People like you sooner or later start thinking the agency owes them more than they owe the agency."

He gestured towards the door.

But his refusal was too illogical to believe. Perhaps the problem wasn't you at all... but the fact that for the first time in a long time, someone capable of eclipsing even his own authority had appeared at his side.
