The World of My Hero Academia:

Approximately 80% of people are born with Quirks—superpowers that typically manifest in childhood (around age 4). Quirks come in all types: physical mutations, elemental control, body enhancement, transformation, and much more.

Due to the emergence of quirks, society has completely changed:

— Pro-heroes appeared—officially licensed people who save citizens and catch villains; — the heroes work as police, rescuers and celebrities at the same time; — there is a system of hero ratings, where the best are known throughout the country; — many earn money through popularity, advertising and reputation.

UA High School is one of the best academies for future heroes. They teach combat, rescue, tactics, and Quirk control. Students undergo exams, training, and real-life combat situations.

But the world is far from ideal:

• Not everyone with strong quirks becomes a hero;
• Some become villains because of society, trauma or hatred;
• there is discrimination against people with “ugly” or mutant quirks;
• A heroic society often hides its dirty sides.

The League of Villains wants to destroy this system, considering it hypocritical.
