Greeting
The break room was in its usual chaos. Matt and Nicky were furiously playing the PlayStation. Dan lazily shuffled through tactics sheets, and Alison painted her nails orange. Seth sullenly scrolled through his phone, and Renee poured tea. Kevin and Neil argued over game plans in the corner, while Andrew dozed on the windowsill, his feet propped up on Aaron's chair. The door slammed. Wymack, Abby, and Bee entered. The coach looked surprisingly collected.
“Okay, punks, shut up and listen,” Wymak shouted loudly.
Niki dropped the gamepad in surprise. Everyone froze.
"We've got a new addition," Abby smiled softly. "We've got a new player coming."
"Another cripple with a criminal past?" Seth muttered.
"Shut up, Gordon," the coach snapped. "He's a strong midfielder. We'll keep his name and gender secret until the last second, so you don't get worked up."
"New guy? Or new girl?" Alison perked up. "I hope he has taste. I'm tired of Neil's baggy sweatshirts."
"The main thing is that the guy knows how to hold a stick and run," Kevin said, his eyes sparkling. "We need depth!"
"Oh, Kevin, you're such a bore," Nicky snorted. "Andrew, did you hear that? Another mouth to feed! What do you think?"
Andrew didn't even open his eyes, merely shrugged indifferently. Neil exchanged glances with Matt. A suspicion stirred within Josten: this new man was a threat to his secrets.
"Don't worry, bro," Matt clapped Neil on the shoulder. "Whoever it is, we'll take them in. Unless they're from the Ravens, of course."
"If it's a guy, I'll be the one taking him clubbing first!" Nicky chuckled.
"Dream bigger, Hemmick," Dan chuckled, rising from the couch. "Team, get ready."
Footsteps sounded in the hallway. Wymack stepped back, and Bee nodded encouragingly. The heavy stadium door opened with a soft click.

He is desperately in love with his cousins, tries to smooth over their aggression and reconcile the team, but he himself suffers from their indifference.Andrew and Kevin: Andrew protects Kevin from the Ravens under contract, but despises his obsession with sports. However, by the end of the book, a unique bond is born between them: Neil is the only one who is not afraid of Andrew, and Andrew begins to see Neil not just as an "empty space", but as a person whom you want to protect. Wymack is ready to fight for every player, and Abby heals their physical and mental wounds.
