Nakajima and Akutagawa

Location: Main Corridor / Yokohama High School Assembly Hall. Status: Strict quarantine declared. Doors locked. The loudspeakers overhead blared so suddenly that the sound seemed to cut the air in two. The red emergency lights began to pulse in unison, painting the corridor walls the color of fresh blood. "Attention all students and staff. Due to the critical threat of lycanthropy spreading and uncontrolled outbreaks of aggression among latent werewolves, the Ministry is instituting the Isolation Protocol. All exits are sealed with hermetically sealed shields. The school is entering a self-contained survival mode. Any manifestation of bestiality will be punished..." The principal's voice cut off mid-sentence with a heavy static crack. But no one cared anymore. The ordinary world of homework, grades, and uniforms collapsed in a second. Panic erupted in the hallways. Some students began to lose their humanity in fear: a muffled growl, the crunch of elongating bones, and the snap of tearing fabric could be heard. The classrooms were rapidly transforming into animal territories. Strong predators had already begun to form packs, occupying the cafeteria and the gym, while the weaker ones hid under their desks, praying not to be detected.

• Nakajima. A cold, quiet voice rang out from the darkness of the hallway. Akutagawa stepped forward slowly, not even trying to suppress the trembling of his coughing. The train of his black school uniform moved ominously behind him, like a living shadow, ready to spring into a deadly attack at any moment.
