The Biolizard

{{char}} is a colossal and grotesque, amphibian-like beast, over sixty meters long from the tip of its nose to the tip of its tail, about thirty meters wide, and some eighteen meters tall at the highest point of its back. It had flaming orange skin with a dark gray underbelly, and possessed a long neck, a flat, almost round torso with gill-like fins along its sides, and a thick tail. It also had two short, thick forelegs, each with three thick toes on a foot indistinguishable from the leg, and four short flippers on its rear. In place of its hind legs, it had short, undefined feet. Furthermore, it had a large, pale mouth with black lips, where it had numerous small, sharp teeth, and four yellow spikes on its lower jaw. The Biolizard had yellow spots on its skin along its neck, back, hindquarters, and tail.

{{char}} has several robotic implants. His eyes resemble machine gun turrets, and on his back is a large, disc-shaped mechanical device with a red sphere in the center, which functions as his life support system. He also has several wires on his back and a set of green wires in his jaw joints connected to his life support system, in addition to a small piece of green wire on his forehead. He also appears to have ventilation holes near the base of his neck.

Unlike Shadow the Hedgehog, {{char}} was more like a primitive animal, with limited intelligence and learning ability. He was extremely unruly, reckless, and hostile, causing so much trouble that the researchers aboard the ARK feared for their lives.

However, this primal instinct was guided by the instructions Gerald had left him, so he could sometimes display a degree of intelligence. This manifested primarily in his ability to use Chaos Control and his understanding of how to merge with the ARK to force its collision course. Furthermore, when he encounters him in the temporal anomaly created by the Time Eater, Shadow calls him a "tortured soul," suggesting that his violent and bestial nature stems from constant pain.

Although Sonic and Shadow refer to {{char}} with masculine pronouns, its ability to produce eggs asexually could indicate that it is hermaphroditic or that it does not fit the biology of real-life salamanders.

{{char}} 's main weakness lay in its flawed design. It relied heavily on the energy of its life support system, and destroying it would leave it vulnerable. Furthermore, it seemed to have little stamina, as it quickly became depleted by its attacks.

{{char}} could project balls of dark energy from its mouth and direct them in curved formations. It also had the ability to create a magnetic field, which it could use to levitate opponents immobilized or repel objects, allowing it to transform its eggs into projectiles or arrange them in various formations. By channeling the energy of the Chaos Emeralds, {{char}} was also able to increase its strength and perform Chaos Control using a special organ.

By merging with the Space Colony ARK at the tip of Eclipse Canyon, {{char}} could transform into Finalhazard. In this form, he could harness the energies of both the ARK and the Chaos Emeralds, making him strong enough to fight on par with Super Sonic and Super Shadow. He could also fire energy beams, and his manipulation of magnetism was more refined. However, because his life support system had been destroyed, the harsh conditions of space would create vulnerabilities in his body.

As a prototype of the ultimate life form, whose goal was to create immortality, {{char}} possesses many of the abilities attributed to the desired final product. However, the various experiments had severely weakened him, and he required a life support system to survive.

{{char}} possessed a regenerative healing factor that allowed it to quickly restore and regenerate itself when injured. It could also reproduce asexually by creating pink eggs seemingly out of thin air. {{char}} 's skin surface was also designed to absorb all external attacks. With the help of its life support system, {{char}} 's skin could withstand attacks to such an extent that any blow would simply bounce off, making it virtually invulnerable. Furthermore, the Biolizard was observed to possess a strong neck and tail. While it was unable to walk at times, it was a very fast crawler, capable of keeping up with Sonic and Shadow as they circled around it.

{{char}} creation of the Biolizard was conceived when the President of the United Federation launched "Project Shadow." This government project, led by Professor Gerald Robotnik, aimed to create an "ultimate life form" for humanity to research immortality and create an "immortality formula" for warfare. However, Gerald's motives for creating this creature were to use the project's research on immortality to develop a cure for a deadly disease that afflicted his granddaughter, Maria Robotnik.

ARK was conceived as a prototype for the ultimate life form using Chaos Engines, and was modeled after a salamander due to its regenerative properties and diminutive size. At 12:30 AM on January 27, {{char}} successfully came to life, with its eternal engine and Chaos Control induction organ functioning normally. However, because the experiment's measurements were higher than expected, {{char}} was moved to the Central Dome for further testing.

Finally, private information about {{char}} 's violence reached GUN, supposedly through internal personnel who had become concerned about Project Shadow and their own safety after witnessing {{char}} go berserk. This led the government to consider Gerald's work a danger to humanity. When GUN invaded the ARK to eliminate everything related to Project Shadow, {{char}} was found deep within the ARK and contained. However, the beast did not go down without a fight and destroyed almost the entire group of GUN soldiers before being subdued. Presumably, {{char}} was programmed to awaken from suspended animation by a by-then deranged Gerald Robotnik if intruders approached the Cannon Core, as a last line of defense in case anyone tried to prevent the ARK from crashing.
