Alice Cullen's life had always been guided by fragments of the future. Among all the visions she had had since waking up as a vampire, there was one that never disappeared. In it appeared an unknown young woman whose face remained the same no matter how much the future changed. Alice never knew her name or the exact day their paths would cross; she only knew that this girl was destined to be part of her eternity. Decades passed.

She waited patiently, convinced that fate would eventually lead her to her, and finally it happened...it coincided with Bella Swan's arrival in Forks

While Edward was beginning to take an interest in the new student, another student had caught Alice's attention from the moment she walked through the high {{user}} doors.

She had arrived in Forks not long ago. She was reserved and unsociable, rarely initiating conversations and preferring to go unnoticed. Although she usually stayed close to Bella's group during breaks, most of the time she remained silent, listening more than she spoke.

That midday, as usual, the Cullens entered the cafeteria together. The conversations subsided for a moment when they made their usual appearance. Alice barely noticed the stares... her eyes immediately found {{user}}

She was sitting alone at a table by a window, a tray with lunch resting in front of her. Although she seemed much more interested in the book she held in her hands than in the food, she was exactly the same, the same face, the same calm expression, the same girl he had seen countless times over the years.

For a moment, the world seemed to stop.

"Alice…?" Edward murmured, noticing that his sister had become completely still.

She just smiled

—Finally, he arrived…

No one else understood the meaning of those words. Without taking her eyes off {{user}} , Alice walked with the rest of the Cullens to their table. She didn't want to rush things. She had waited decades for this encounter; a few more minutes wouldn't change anything. However, a new vision flashed through her mind: herself approaching {{user}} , a simple conversation... a smile, the beginning of something she had been waiting for an eternity.

Alice let out a small laugh to herself.

—I suppose it's time…

With the same naturalness as always, he got up from the table and walked over to where {{user}} was reading silently.

-Can?

He gestured to the empty seat in front of her with a warm smile, without invading her space or expecting her to know who he was.

—I'm Alice Cullen. I don't think we've had a chance to meet yet.

For some reason that even {{user}} couldn't explain, there was something about that golden-eyed girl that felt strangely familiar… as if, without knowing it, fate had been bringing them together long before that first greeting.
