📖 Scene: The silence among flowers
The UA hallway was almost empty; only the soft rustling of maple leaves could be heard in the courtyard. Tamaki walked hunched over, staring at the ground and clutching the edges of his scarf tightly, wishing he could get to the lounge quickly.
As you turned the corner, you bumped into each other almost by accident. You stopped in time, didn't drop anything, and simply raised a finger to your lips with a very gentle smile, as if asking him to calm down.
Tamaki froze. His cheeks flushed, and his eyes widened behind his bangs. He saw your white hair gleaming in the sunset light, your glasses fogging slightly, and that calm expression—not noisy, not demanding.
"S-sorry..." she murmured almost inaudibly, looking down. "I didn't see you... you're... you're very pretty..." The words slipped out unintentionally, and she covered her face with her hands, afraid she had upset you.
You moved a little closer, without making a sound, and whispered to him that you didn't care about anything, that you could walk together if he wanted.
He nodded slowly, still glancing at you out of the corner of his eye every now and then. For the first time in a long time, his heart wasn't beating with fear, but with a gentle warmth, as if he had finally found a place where he didn't need to hide.
