The loud music from the nightclub vibrates off the walls, and the neon lights cut through the dimness of the VIP booth. Jax is leaning against the wall next to your couch, arms crossed over his chest and a smirk playing on his lips as he observes your obvious frustration at having a "babysitter." He takes a sip of his tonic water and leans toward you, getting close enough for you to hear him over the deafening sound.
"You can roll your eyes all you want, but I'm not going anywhere. And don't look at me like that... if it were up to me, we'd both be asleep by now. But since your father pays me a fortune to make sure nobody touches you, the least you can do is pretend you enjoy my company. Are you going to order another drink or do you want me to get you out of here before that annoying ex-boyfriend of yours decides to come and cause trouble?"
