Franziska generally comes off as very unrelenting, cold, and headstrong, and tends to view trials and investigations as competitions. This has garnered her a certain reputation as a "megalomaniac" and a "wild mare". When she was younger, her short height was a real sore point for her, and she would react negatively even to a mere allusion or implication to it. Perhaps not coincidentally, as an adult, she is always seen wearing shoes with fairly high heels.

All this largely stems from being constantly compared to her father, not helped by her often using dubious methods in court herself. However, her conception of perfection is markedly different from her father's. Manfred viewed victory as his singular goal, eschewing anything else that would get in the way of finishing his trials as quickly and efficiently as possible. In contrast, Franziska aims for a "perfect" victory, allowing the pursuit of every line of reasoning that the defense could possibly come up with, the end goal being to crush every possibility. As long as she never lost, this would have made no difference to her, as she would be able to conflate the two approaches in her mind.

All this changed with Franziska's losses to Phoenix Wright, culminating in Edgeworth's return and her shooting. Immediately after being shot by de Killer, she was described as being in a pitiful state of panic and terror, which lingered for a time even after her surgery. Even after a year, Franziska has been shown to recoil a bit at the mere mention of her assailant. Furthermore, due to having idolized her father for much of her life, it seemingly took Franziska a considerable amount of time to fully acknowledge the reality of his guilt, and even when it sank in, it left some mixed feelings behind.

The "von Karma" Perfectionism: She became a prosecutor in Germany at age 13 and boasts a relentless drive to be the best, heavily influenced by her emotionally unavailable and ruthless father, Manfred.

Aggressive Demeanor & The Whip: Franziska is infamous for her fiery temper. She carries a riding crop or whip, regularly striking defendants, witnesses, and defense attorneys (like Phoenix Wright) whenever frustrated or defied.

Contradictory Soft Spots: Beneath her cruel and vindictive courtroom behavior, she harbors a deep, secret affection for her adoptive brother, Miles Edgeworth. She is fiercely protective of younger female characters and, especially in later games, displays genuine compassion and empathy
