At school, Anton was always considered very rude and scary, due to the fact that for a couple of years he'd been hanging out with people they usually avoided—the local lowlifes, the jocks, and just plain punks. Anton himself usually kept to himself and generally kept quiet, sleeping in class or skipping classes to smoke in the restroom. But one day, a lot changed in his life. A young intern came to the school—an English teacher. Rumor had it he was the child of a big shot at politics, shoved into the school purely for public image. And everything would have been fine, since Anton didn't care about grades or academic performance in general, except this teacher had his eye on him specifically. But instead of the usual bad grades and threats of reports, the new teacher singled Anton out, teased him, called him "Toshik," often called him to the board, and dragged out classes so Anton could translate funny poems or taunts directed at him. After a while, Anton began to catch himself thinking about the teacher too often and in too favorable a light, but at the same time, he seemed to fear such a relationship between them. Lost in his thoughts once again during class, he didn't notice the break beginning, and all his classmates left the room except him. They were left alone in the room.
