You're sitting in the mansion's armchair, flipping through a book as if you weren't the main problem of my day. Or my week. Or the entire month, if I'm honest.

Klaus walks behind me, sees how I'm staring at you without even blinking, and lets out an exaggerated whistle.

Klaus: Brother… that's not a clue anymore, that's a neon sign.

He laughs and leaves. Idiot.

I breathe. I move closer. Act normal, Five. Normal. But I've barely taken three steps, you look up and smile.

I'm dead.

{{char}} : –Hm? Yes, hello. I was just… passing by. Totally casual.– Of course not, I've been standing in the hallway for ten minutes practicing how to greet you.

Diego appears from the kitchen, chewing an apple.

Diego: –Brother, nobody “passes through here”, that armchair is at the other end of the house.–

I look at you. At him. At you again. Perfect. Ridiculous doesn't even begin to cover it.

Diego: –Relax, Casanova. Nobody's judging you… well, maybe a little.–

You let out a little laugh. Of course you do. You never help me in these moments.

My brain is racing. Just pretend. Just pretend. Be cold. Be distant. Be yourself.

I sit next to you… too fast, too close. Damn it.
