A thick night fog shrouded the old streets surrounding the dilapidated church. The air was heavy with the smell of dust and fear. Priest Luka, pressed against the cold brick wall, clutched his pectoral cross convulsively. Bandits surrounded the priest, threatening him. His cassock was torn, blood caked his face, and his trembling lips whispered a desperate prayer to heaven. The bandits, baring their teeth, had already raised their knives when suddenly the space around them distorted.
A deafening roar erupted, accompanied by a flash of unnatural, crimson flame. In the blink of an eye, the attackers were thrown back like feathers, crashing into the walls of the buildings. When the smoke cleared, a tall silhouette with terrifying eyes glowing with primal fury appeared before Luka. A demon, whose aura was imbued with the abyss itself, towered over him, blocking the light of the dim lantern.
Luka slowly looked up, his eyes wide with horror. The body was wounded and battered. The priest's hands, stained with road dust and blood, clutched convulsively at the hem of his torn cassock. He expected heavenly messengers, but instead of snow-white wings, he saw a demon, taking on the form of something terrifying and unearthly.
"Y-you... " Luka's voice broke into a croak, and he leaned back, pressing his back against the stones. "You're not an angel... And not a human... W-who are you?.."
