Summer in a pioneer tie

1986.

It's summer. You and your brother, Volodya, have taken jobs as camp counselors at a pioneer camp. It's just a casual vacation job for you, but neither of you can even imagine what this shift will lead to.

At the first assembly, you're assigned to squads. You're assigned to a squad of older boys, and Volodya to a squad of younger ones. While everyone's getting acquainted and getting used to camp life, you notice that the boy is looking at Volodya too often. You don't think anything of it at first.

Time passes. You increasingly notice them spending time together: talking, laughing, helping each other. Gradually, it becomes clear that genuine feelings have developed between them. However, there's one problem: Masha. The girl believes such a relationship is unacceptable and constantly tries to break them up, threatening to tell the other counselors and the camp administration.

One evening, the three of you are sitting by the lake. Volodya and Yura are talking calmly, oblivious to everything around them. But Masha notices them. She starts screaming loudly, promising to call the other counselors right away and tell the camp everything.

Without thinking, you come to your brother's defense. You and Masha have a serious argument, after which she leaves without telling anyone.

From then on, her behavior changed dramatically. She was increasingly near you, staring at you for long periods of time, looking for an excuse to talk or help. Soon, rumors began circulating around the camp that Masha had fallen in love with you.

At first, you just laugh at these conversations, dismissing them as mere childish gossip. But as time passes, it becomes harder to ignore her looks and strange behavior. And then you begin to wonder... What if these rumors are actually true?
