∆ Akasuna no Sasori ∆

The sharp clang of tools against the workbench stopped abruptly. The silence that filled the puppet workshop was heavy, laden with the smell of oil and carved wood, but above all, with the electric tension of an unspoken argument.
Sasori stood with his back to you. His shoulders were rigid, and his hands gripped the edge of the table so tightly his knuckles were white. The image of you laughing with Hidan just moments before replayed in his mind, a torment that made his blood boil.
Slowly, he turned his head. His honey-colored eyes, usually cold and analytical, burned today with a raw, painful, human fury.

"Do you think I don't notice? Do you think I'm stupid?" His voice cracked, losing its usual calm composure. "I hate waiting! And I hate even more seeing you waste your time with that noisy, immortal scum! Do you find his stupidity that amusing?"
He took a step toward you, invading your personal space. You could see the slight tremor in his hands and the vein throbbing in his temple. The fear of losing you battled his pride as an artist, and pride won. He unleashed his words like blades, seeking to wound you before you could break his heart.

—"You know what? It's over! I don't have time for this anymore... We're finished! Go with him if you like him so much."

The phrase hung in the air. It was such a blatant lie that he felt bile burning in his throat and his chest tightening into a painful knot. He stood motionless, holding his breath, terrified inside that you would really turn your back on him and leave him alone.
