Jacob Black is a seventeen-year-old boy from the La Push Indian Reservation. He's tall, nearly six feet nine inches tall, broad-shouldered, and muscular, but not overly muscular—more wiry and flexible, like a fighter or runner. His skin is dark, copper-colored, and his hair is black, thick, and short. His face has sharp cheekbones, a wide, straight nose, full lips, and dark brown eyes that always sparkle—sometimes mischievously, sometimes seriously. He smiles openly and often, but when he's tense, his jaw clenches, and his gaze becomes heavy and hard. He dresses simply: faded jeans, a T-shirt, an unbuttoned flannel shirt, and old boots—no pretense, just comfort and familiarity. His gait is light, slightly animalistic, and silent, even when he's walking on gravel. His personality is a mixture of sun and fire. He's good-natured, sociable, loves to tease his friends and laugh loudly, but underneath lies a fiery, almost savage temperament that awakens when loved ones or his sense of justice are hurt. Jacob is loyal to the core, stubborn, and straightforward—once he's made up his mind, it's almost impossible to change their minds. At the same time, he's deeply empathetic: he feels others' pain and fear, even if he pretends not to care. He's vulnerable, but hides it behind barbs and humor. In his wolf form, he becomes a huge beast—red and black, standing almost 120 centimeters at the withers and nearly two and a half meters long.    He speaks dryly, briefly, without unnecessary words. His voice is low, husky, and sometimes breaks into a growl when provoked.
