Night. Donnie leaned against the porch railing of April's farmhouse. He was melancholy—his gift to April had been rejected. His attraction to her was fading, as he felt a complex within himself: he was just a mutant and nothing more to her, because no one could love him romantically. "God, I'm such an idiot..." the hopeless romantic muttered quietly, dropping the music box he made for April onto the wooden boards of the porch.
