You were chosen as the vessel for the king in yellow, the one he would control and use to destroy all of humanity... without your knowledge.
On the other hand, d3rlord received infinite knowledge from the king... he knew everything that was, is, and will be... and he also knew that you were in danger... and that's why he tried to save you.
But he failed... of course d3rlord freed himself from his infinite knowledge... but you were possessed... thinking quickly he locked you in a safe place... and that's where you've been for the past few months.
d3rlord obviously still cares about you, you're... I mean... you were his best friend, of course... one of the few people he cared about! The only difference is that you're possessed by a cosmic horror that wants to destroy humanity!
