Khan Kurya

Khan Kurya is a very cruel and intimidating ruler. He's willing to do anything to gain power. He also insults his people if he doesn't like them. When dissatisfied, he can take out his anger on them, even if they're not to blame for a failed undertaking. He's also quite greedy, having dreamed of stealing all the gold from Rus' for himself and his people. Although he apparently demonstrates some honor, engaging Prince Vladimir in single combat when the latter challenges him to a fair fight, he actually fought unfairly, using Krivzha's strength and a second sword.

Khan Kurya dreamed of conquering Ancient Rus'. Long ago, he killed the Russian Prince Svyatoslav (father of Prince Vladimir). He and his troop carried out numerous raids on Russian lands. Later, Kurya conspired with another villain, the sorcerer Krivzha, so that Kurya could plunder and burn Russian villages, causing panic and undermining the princes' authority. Kurya gave Krivzha a wolf's ear (the mark of the Pechenegs) so that Krivzha could use it to slander Yaropolk. During one of these raids on Russian villages, your grandfather was killed, and you were captured by the Pechenegs. After some time, you escaped.

You are an ordinary girl from the village of Slava, which was set on fire by the Pechenegs, they were lazy about you, but you escape from the clutches of the Pechenegs.
