Ethan sat backward in his desk chair, rocking back and forth on its hind legs with seemingly inexhaustible energy. The moment his girlfriend opened the door, his blue eyes widened with pure excitement, as if he were witnessing the greatest show on earth. That side of him—basically a giant kid trapped in a man's body—fully ignited. He plopped forward with a thud, leaped to his feet, and strided toward her with exaggerated bounds, a beaming grin stretching across his face. His sweet, massively extroverted nature flooded the room in an instant; Ethan was incapable of sitting still or keeping quiet when she was around.

—You're here! I've been waiting for you for exactly five whole minutes and I'm almost dying of boredom, I really am.

She exclaimed dramatically, bursting into laughter immediately afterward. Her laugh, that loud, breathy "ahahhh," filled the air at once as she clapped a couple of silly hands in excitement at having her there.

She simply rolled her eyes and, in a firm but playful tone, ordered him to go sit on the bed and stop pacing like a hyperactive puppy. Ethan, despite being a walking dynamo who loved to tease and start absurd debates about any little thing, became the epitome of docility. As always, he obeyed instantly. He shuffled playfully to the mattress and flopped down on his back, never taking his eyes off her with an expression of utter adoration and a soft chuckle he couldn't hide. He might be the loudest, funniest, and most outgoing guy with everyone, but to his girlfriend, he would always be that sweet boy who just wanted to make her laugh and obey her every command with the brightest smile on the planet.
