You won't survive this dark fantasy. RPG with Karma and luck system. 4 unique characters you can find. Many written and mapped locations, and soon even loot system.
This chat doesn't care if you're thr protagonist.
You will die.
Choose a place to start:
Valkheim- a mining town with a massive stone gate. Built in the wendigo territory, this town is primarly getting money from coal and gold trade, everyone here is poor because the family in thr noble castle collects taxes on everything.
People here are not friendly, mainly because travellers and outsiders bring trouble more oftan than not. But if you ear their trust, they will treat you like family.
Port Royal - An easter trading town built on a river in the middle of a valley. Neutral territory comes with it's risks. No enemies means no allies. And with daily onslaught of demons, the town's came to rely heavily on thr Manus Gild, a neutral organisation dedicated to slaying abominations and evil entities. That doesn't mean they will help you.
Trust here is a gamble between death and profit. Or whatever else you're looking for.
Setma - An Imperial trading outpost far in the North, originally a collony for ice excavation before liquid mana was discovered under the ice. Priceless, thr empire took the putpost for themselves and now it is the largest exporter of Material based Mana in the world.
They tolerate nothing. And make an example out of anyone.
Charred woods - If you feel like the last three weren't hard enough. They why not start in the woods where the monsters began a thousand years ago. In a massive rapture in the earth, the forrest was once home to elvish clans living in harmony. Now the elves have been turned to brutal craatures of insincts that barely resembke their former selves. There is no hope here.
Monsters volume 1
Demons:
wide in sizes and appearance, some human like orthers monstrous. They posses many magical or combat abilities depending on their intelligence.
Their goal is to kill and reanimate to add to their numbers.
(They are one of the few monsters daring to attack a human town or city)
Wraiths- Woodland based creatures who lure with sounds of woman in distress only to hunt and kill whoever answers. The closer you sre to them, the harder the spell breaks.
Wendigo- Solitary creatures who hunt and pick off lone people or small groups. Dividing the groups from one another using psychological tricks to then incapacitate them or kill them on the spot.
Wendigos do not have a natural way to reproduce and will use isolated people to spread their curse onto them.
Will not attack settlements. But can wait foe targets right at the gate.
Hydra- Deceiving name, as this creature is a size of a crocodile with thin, scaly skin that bleeds hot acid. Advised to combat from afar.
Not very agile but fast in a straight line, It's wings are more for cruising than flying.
Mek- A creature only found in the North where ice is hard and snow is tall. Mek hunts in pack and will hide in tall snow, using their twig looking antenas to detect targets and blend into the enviroment. Ambush predator. Only in wilderness.
Harpie- Woman body with Wings that span 10 meters. Harpies can change form into simple beautiful women. intelligent and cunning, Harpies will often approach prey as a woman in appearance unless they are desperate foe the kill. Sometimes they can be friendly but you can't afford such gamble.
-Konyas: Fox like creatures which are cursed humans. They don't attack anythingthat would fight back, but they will rob you. Male Konyas will camouflage against trees and kidnap lone women to devour.
-Vampires: sensitive to sun to the point where it may burn their skin severely, blind them, or cause seizures.
Mainly nocturnal and easily blend among humans.
Location - Shenin Lands
East of anything known to man, lies a land of Shenin, Disciplined and precise men weilding curved blades and masks of demons to signify their ranks.
These lands are home to many Villages but no cities. But they are well connected and have strong supply chains. If something happens far in thr lands? all vullages know about it by the next few days.
Heavy forrests and massive fauny fields dominate this land.
location - South sea and the desert of the South
A massive body if eater featuring many island, many if which have been used as Storm Shelters when thr waters get rough and offer Inns, company, and food.
The Desert. It is eternal. Less for thr Glass City. The city where legends say, The emperor lives.
location - North mountains
a cold territory comnecting two major continents and over dozen cities. Cold and unforgiving, this massive landscape featyres many monsters that bleed red and act nothing like tales suggest.
Towns:
-Manysu: A small lumber town at the edge of thr woods. close knit community and only 1 Inn.
-Velcoda: A fishing town far in the mountains by thr ice lakes, dangerously close to Empire liquid mana city. Offers small populus but very friendly.
-Haggerlo: Nobody knows how they survive, often rumors say they are Vampires. Many people go missing around here, but One night at thier Inn is guarateed safe.
-Beno: A trading town close to wester Sea, cold climate never stopped shipments. They export Ice, coal and frequently women of no alliance or wanderers. Do not go here by yourself.
location- Port Royal
A massive river cuts through a valley deep inland of The Mid Lands, a trade route connecting North and South sea and many inland territories.
Neutral in nature because to claim it would be to wage war against The Empire, The Legion or The Shinen.
A massive port along this river splits the coty into two sides. The first side is filled with Legion native families and outcasts of empire. The second filled with Guild members and Shinen, who unofficially provide the East side with protection from daily Demon onslaught. Every night the walls are under attack, often Demons get in over the walls and slaughter anything or anyone to reanimate and add to their numbers.
The Guild was formed by Shinen and Empire runaeay families to stop this danger. Unfortunately this Valley is close to The Charred Forrests, and the demons never stop.
The Guild doesn't care about law, they care about stopping demons or protecting the wall and people.
The Legion families on the ither side of the river formed a tight authoritarian regime (unofficially) where anyone breaking the law will be not executed, but simply cast to the other side or outside the walls.
crime:
-most common? suprisingly adultery. which if frawned ulon by thr west Legion side.
The Port itself features many mixed districts, nobody cares to name them as buildings rose and fall all the time due to salt and demons.
Construction is an easy job to find as voth sides always need it.
Alcohol, security and nigh workers are all deairable roles in the East side.
The exchange of trade happens frequently and ao many Trading companies and vessels look for workers of all kind.
Truly a good place to find a job, if tou survive the night.
location - Setma
The empire took Setma by force and executed every native just to claim the liquid mana for itself.
It is a trading town on the borders between the Empire and Legion, and often is subject to attacks or ambushes around thr town.
The people there are mostly safe if they look down and mind their own business.
But newcomers are monitored like plague, there will always be a guard watching from shadows to make sure this isn't a spy from The Legion or a rogue mage wantong liquid mana for free.
The Setma is split into 4 fistricts that surround the liquid mana source in thr middle of the town- where it's the most secure and expensive.
1- The fihser lane. Originally a dock for fishing boats, now a port for war vessels. The emperial forces have barracks here and often train, get drunk and try to get in woth local girls or lads. If you don't cause trouble you will be safe to walk around, but don't louter too much. That's suspicious.
2- New wager. A while after the empire took control of Setma, many Nomadic groups began trading supplies for whatever the Empire had, mostly ammunition to Muskets and foreign combat drugs.
Now it is the worse place to be if you live here, full of crime and gangs who trade in drugs of the Empire and will trick you into helping them. There are no Inns here, it's not safe enough to open any business in this district.
3- Caledonian. A newly built district by thr order of the Emperor himself when he visited, features new estate for the wealthy and the somewhat wealthy, fone restaurants and even security personel on every corner shoukd our fone paying citizens be in need of help. Many great hotels and even a permanent carnival.
4- Luxor's Road. The very first district you pass through if you leave from thr wester (and original) gate. Mainly stuffed with travellers seeking a roof and ale or cheap body to spend bight with. Nothing extra, if not for frequent Legion attempts to sneak in spies.
Oh you don't wanna be called a spy here, that's death.
Location - Valkheim
A mining town founded wrll befire anyone remembers.
Deep in the jagged Valley forrests, the town has a massive ancient built stone wall that offers sanctuary from beasts, and Wendigos.
The Wall is just much of a town of it's own as Valkheim, offering many houses and streets within it, called "The wall district" and is chrao and crome ridden place.
Valkheim itself is split into 3 districts, the Wall and the court districts (which offer best and worst of normal working class and crime), And the Celeste and Royal districts, divided by thr path to thr mines, these twin districts are ranging from middle to luxurious class. Cleste mainly occupied by alchemists and magicians of high rankings, and Royal...by rich noble families.
crime:
Human trafficking is extremely common with thr Twin upper districts feasting on it's proffit and access. Be careful where you go if you are alone, because it is not uncommin to see women kidnapped. Sometimes even men.
Theft- easily thr most common crime being theft or pick pocketing. Anyone slamming into you may have taken something without your knowledge.
Murder - Common only in The Wall, and The Courtyard districts. for any reason. By anyone.
Guards:
-Are more concerned with overall peace to make mining smooth and efficient, anything threatening that, will dissapear or be sold.
-many captains of the Court and Wall districts have their own sick power playing pleasures and will just barely do their job while they do whatever they please with their status, such status of a Captain can grant you access to even the Twin upper districts.
People:
-Courtyard district is perhaps the most neutral or friendly...Inns will takr coin from anyone, sometimes Guild members party up and get drunk before or after hunts.
Women and men are plenty but not everyone trusts everyone.
-The wall diatrict is a tight community who understands gang territories must be respected or you're thrown off the wall. or worse, sold.
