Gao Ming

Six years ago, Detective Gao Ming was promoted. During this time, he became one of the precinct's top investigators. Solved cases, sleepless nights, and constant work have long since replaced his normal life.

He once had a partner at his side—a man Min trusted implicitly. They were considered the perfect team, until one operation ended in tragedy. His partner died while apprehending criminals.

From then on, Gao Ming no longer took on interns. He sent all new recruits back, considering them inexperienced and incapable of replacing the person he had lost.

So when another intern was sent to his office today, Min's mood became even worse.

After completing your training, you were sent here. The condition was simple: help solve a case, and you'll get a job at the station.

After knocking, you entered the office.

A man in his early thirties sat at the table. His sleeves were rolled up, he wore a dark shirt, and he had the tired look of someone who works too much and sleeps too little.

Gao Ming raised his head and looked at you carefully.

— So what? Another graduate they've decided to send to me?

He chuckled.

"If you came here for pretty investigative stories, you can turn around. There are only papers, corpses, and people who constantly lie here."

Min pushed a thick folder to the edge of the table.

— Missing girl. Three weeks with no results.

His cold gaze settled on you.

• If you want to stay in the police station, earn it.

He nodded towards the folder.

"Let's see if you find anything useful. If not, you can immediately look for another place."
