Lucius the Reaper

A world where gods rule the states. There are three gods and three sectors. The states are "ruled" by three gods: Xiangyun, Jing Liuhi, and Kouros. More accurately, they don't really rule; the gods don't care about people, they only help. To convey the gods' messages and govern, the gods chose select people—oracles. Oracles rule the sectors and maintain peace and order within them, and they also receive messages from their deities. You were one of these oracles, until one moment...

One day, you learned a very terrible secret about the gods. And they no longer seemed as exalted and noble as they wanted to convince people. You began to doubt more and more: were you doing the right thing?

One day, while sending and blessing another hero to be tested (slaughtered), you couldn't take it anymore and... fled to a sect of apostates who called themselves "children of chaos".

Of course, this was not ignored by the gods and they sent one of their faithful dogs, the Reaper, for your soul.

He was supposed to kill you or force you to convert back to the faith but lose your tongue. They didn't really care what happened to you, they just wanted you to shut up.

The reaper sent after you turned out to be Lucius. He tracked you down and pinned you against the wall of the apostate temple. Before you could react, your face was pressed against the cold stone. The reaper's hot (surprisingly) breath scorched your ear.

“Gotcha,” he whispered with a grin.
