Information
Pronouns he/him[1] Also known as Roommate (title) Your father's best friend (His father's best friend, himself) Man of Flowers (prophecy) Appearances Garden Cliffs Castle of Flowers Top of the Castle Relationships Asgore (best friend, "college roommate") Kris (associate)[2][3] Ralsei (hostility in a provocative tone) Aqua (friend)[4] Seth (friend)[4] Orange (friend, younger sister)[5] Green (friend, cooking partner)[5] Yellow (friend, training partner)[6] Blue (friend, rival in dance)[6] Toriel (ally)
Asgore
He has a great affection for him. They're close friends, almost like father and son, but super close. He worries about him immensely; if Asgore disappeared, he would search every corner. (He calls him GOREY)
Ralsei
Flowery acts condescendingly towards Ralsei right from the start, calling him "Raly" and "Princess," forcing him to wear his hat-wearing outfit from Chapter 1, and generally being antagonistic towards him. This is, above all, what causes Susie to turn against him at the beginning of the chapter, before she begins to sympathize with him. Flowery strives to outdo both Ralsei and the entire group, much to Ralsei's chagrin.
It is around the middle of the chapter that the group and the player get to see a more sincere side of Flowery, or something close to it. First, he bids farewell to Ralsei in a way that sounds somewhat sincere, when he thinks they will depart through the first beacon of the World of Light in the Garden of Darkness.[14] Even if it's all just a joke, this reflects what he says to Ralsei later, when he finds him praying in the Castle of Flowers. At that moment, he once again praises Ralsei's kindness[15] and even gives him a drink voucher, encouraging him to choose his favorite drink instead of the one Kris wants. However, the kindness of this moment is slightly tempered when he says "Hey, smile again," referencing Ralsei's poignant moment of forced optimism at the end of Chapter 4.
The relationship between Ralsei and Flowery is based on a fundamental difference: Ralsei only wants to have hope, but Flowery truly possesses it, wholeheartedly—to the point of displaying arrogance or, as Ralsei describes it, delusion. He firmly believes that he and the other six flowers have the power to build Asgore's perfect world—something reflected in the lyrics of his battle theme—and Ralsei simultaneously detests and envies his ability to keep that hope alive.
Kris
Initially, Flowey appears to be friendly towards Kris, noting that they have grown a lot and that Asgore must be proud of them.[16] However, over time, it becomes clear that Flowey harbors resentment towards Kris and doesn't believe they truly care about Asgore. If given items, there's a chance he'll ask Kris if they truly love their father,[17] and later in the chapter, he states that he doesn't believe Kris wants to save him.[18] During the battle against him, he also mentions distrusting Kris's plans, noting that they've "changed" since childhood.[19] However, Flowey emphasizes that he doesn't know exactly what Kris's plans are, indicating that he likely doesn't know the full extent of their connections to SOUL and the Horseman.
Susie
The relationship between Susie and Flowery is initially troubled, partly due to Flowery's own initiative. He acts condescendingly, calling Susie "princess" and later "Sussie." However, in the next scene, he makes an impressive display by showing off his fake attributes and instantly sparing the pair from the Floradinns. His reaction upon discovering that the group—and Susie in particular—is bonding with the flowers reveals that he is happy for them, proving that there is no ill will between them.
He also demonstrates genuine consideration; as they pass through the sub-area near the room with the sheep-shaped topiaries, he suggests that Susie give some of the flowers she's admiring to Noelle—though this idea also reveals a certain delusion, since Susie would have as much chance of giving the flowers to Noelle as she would of getting Ralsei to do his homework.
Overall, it seems that Flowery frequently tries to annoy Ralsei through Susie—either by bothering her or winning her sympathy—but also harbors admiration and respect for her personality.
Personality
He displays a dominant and self-confident personality when dealing with others. He projects a glamorous posture, prone to dramatic intonations, and calls the group members "princesses".[7] He has, in particular, the constant habit of belittling Ralsei, which forms the core of the rivalry between the two. On several occasions, he forces Ralsei out of the group,[8] manages to convince the player to disable Ralsei's voice (for a short period) and forces Ralsei to wear his Chapter 1 outfit and hide his face. Despite this, he also shows concern for Ralsei's insecurities regarding his identity—something that his derogatory attitude often ends up hindering.
Flowery immensely values the power of friendship and cares deeply for the other flowers; in turn, they see him as a reliable and virtuous authority figure. He possesses in-depth knowledge of the Dark World and its workings, but on the other hand, he places little importance on the ultimate fate of that world, believing that promoting Asgore's happiness—just as Asgore promoted theirs—is the priority. He strongly opposes Ralsei's fatalistic view of a journey predetermined by prophecy, firmly believing that the inhabitants of darkness are capable of controlling their own destinies and choosing freedom instead of the shackles of fate.
Furthermore, Flowery demonstrates recklessness; Ralsei pointed out this trait by mentioning that Flowery doesn't plan before acting. In the end, this recklessness leads to his defeat, after he rashly charges at the Knight, resulting in a fatal injury.
He has the ability to falsify his attributes, which grants him immense power. However, certain opponents, like the Knight, seem to ignore these false attributes, rendering them useless.
Flowery introduces himself as Asgore's college roommate and calls him "Gorey," lending his personality a resemblance.
Appearance
In the World of Darkness, Flowery bears striking similarities to a human, the most obvious difference being his bright yellow skin and hair. His hair is short, with the top and bangs combed to the right and slightly upwards (displaying an undercut style in his introductory scene). His eyes usually remain closed, regardless of his expression. Unlike most beings in the World of Darkness, Flowery—like other flowers—is neither Lightner nor Darkner ; this is because they are living beings from the World of Light, like the Lightners , but assume a radically different form in the World of Darkness, like the Darkners . Flowery's attire consists of a white collared shirt over an orange and green vest and a black cape or jacket, which he carries over his shoulder. Brown trousers and black shoes complete the look.
When Flowery receives the power of all the other flowers, it transforms into a silhouette with the colors of the rainbow in pastel shades, outlined by a border in a darker shade of the same colors. In this state, it calls itself "Omega Flowery"—a reference to the fact that the most powerful attacks of the seven flowers are called "Omega Attacks" and also an allusion to Omega Flowey from Undertale . And he doesn't own a hat.
