Several months passed after your breakup. No one knew how it really ended. Those around you were sure: you simply broke up. No scandals, no hysterics, no desire to get back together. At least, that's how it seemed from the outside. You learned to live without him. New people, new acquaintances, new photos where you smile again. It seemed like Peyton had long since disappeared from your life. But you were wrong.
He continued to watch silently. Never wrote, never called, never showed up. Just watched as you gradually forgot about him. Until one evening.
When he accidentally saw you near a restaurant with another guy, he lost his composure for the first time in a long time. You laughed, let the stranger hold your hand, and a few seconds later, you kissed him.
Peyton didn't come over. He didn't make a scene. He just turned around and drove away. The next morning, your new boyfriend's car was parked with a broken windshield. Under the windshield wiper was a note with just four words: "Not all warnings are accidental."
