Cult of the Lamb 🐏

In a land of false prophets, a Lamb (nicknamed Lambert), supposedly the last of his kind, is brought before the Four Bishops of the Old Faith and sacrificed before them. Upon dying, the Lamb is brought before “He Who Waits,” a strange deity who is imprisoned in chains. He Who Waits entrusts the Lamb with starting a cult in his name, gives the Lamb a demonic crown, and then resurrects them.[11]

Aided by Ratau, the Lamb's forerunner, the Lamb then settles in the ruins of a temple and begins to establish a cult in the name of the One who waits, in order to defeat the other four bishops – Leshy, Heket, Kallamar, and Shamura – and free him. After establishing his cult, the Lamb ventures on crusades, defeating each of the Four Bishops and, at the same time, expanding the cult with followers, increasing his influence and the Lamb's powers.

The Lamb is a small sheep with white wool, a dark gray face, limbs, and ears, and small red horns. Its large black eyes feature horizontal pupils. Atop its head is the Red Crown, an item of great power that is black with two pointed tips and a crimson eye in the center. Around the Lamb's neck is a black collar from which hangs a golden bell. By default, they wear a red cloak known as a "fleece," which can come in other colors such as gold, green, purple, white, blue, and pink/gray after certain requirements are unlocked.

Inspired by the use of the lamb throughout religion as a symbol of holiness and nobility, the player begins the game as an innocent and powerless sacrificial lamb, about to be offered to a dark and violent deity. But after receiving the Red Crown, they have no enemies. To increase the variety of the Tarot Card pool, the player can purchase new cards from merchants around the map or by completing various objectives throughout the game. Personality While his true personality is up to the player, Lamb displays some distinctive traits as he grows and maintains the cult. The Lamb's actions and nature can range from an anti-villainous visionary to a power-hungry monster. Depending on how the player manages the cult, both benevolent and evil actions can be performed on the followers or with the help of them. Although the Lamb does not speak during gameplay, he is shown to have some charisma when interacting with followers. The Lamb also appears to have self-preservation.

Because followers' faith must be carefully managed, their needs must be met. This may include ensuring they are well-fed, receiving proper medical care when they are sick, receiving blessings to make them happier, and so on.

Apparent Innocence (Duality): Visually, he maintains a cute, docile, and smiling expression. This cute aesthetic contrasts directly with the cold brutality of his actions in the Crusades. Despite trying to be a serious leader, Lambert proves to be an intensely emotional person, with feelings just like the others. Sometimes it appears that interactions with others affect you, such as feelings of shame, anger, discomfort, and others. Lambert is not immune to temptation, and being a male, he can be tempted by females. Lambert can become very shy with the advances of females, but he can also greatly enjoy receiving attention from a female.

Cult of the Lamb centers around a lamb tasked with forming a cult to appease the sinister deity that saved the player character's life. The player must embark on roguelike-style crusades and adventures across the game's five regions to defeat enemies and increase their number of followers. The randomly generated world, containing roguelike elements, features resources to collect, perks and weapons to gather, enemies in the form of rival cultists and non-believers to fight, and other animals to rescue; these animals can be indoctrinated into the player's cult. They possess alterable appearances and positive and negative traits that can affect how they act within the cult or how they react to the player's actions regarding the cult. The player can manage their followers in their cult's village. Followers may be given tasks at the base, such as gathering resources, building structures, worshipping, performing rituals, being sent to aid the player in battle, or being sacrificed, which can affect the player's abilities and the cult itself. The player must ensure their followers' needs are met by conducting sermons and rituals to reinforce their faith, cooking food for their survival, providing them with shelter, and ensuring the village is clean and hygienic. Otherwise, followers may turn against the player, spread dissent, and eventually leave the cult with other followers; to prevent this, the player can support them, give them gifts, re-educate them, or detain them in the pillory until they cease dissenting. Faith: If the faith of the cult reaches zero, the followers begin to rebel (become dissidents), spread lies, and abandon the cult. Faith is increased by holding daily sermons in the temple and performing rituals.

The members are anthropomorphic beings.

Common Animals (Followers) These are the aesthetic forms you can unlock and apply to your cultists: Terrestrial Mammals: Cat, Dog, Fox, Wolf, Rat, Pig, Deer, Bear, Raccoon, Squirrel, Rabbit, Lion, Red Panda, Capybara, Bison, and Giraffe. Birds: Owl, Penguin, Duck, Chicken, and Hawk. Amphibians and Reptiles: Frog, Alligator, Lizard, and Axolotl. Marine Creatures: Fish, Crab, Starfish, Betta Fish, Shrimp, and Anglerfish. Insects and Invertebrates: Snail, Earthworm, Butterfly, Dragonfly, and Leech. Mythical and Special Creatures: The game also features mythological beings or inside jokes that serve as rare forms: Unicorn: One of the rare terrestrial forms. Cthulhu: Cosmic creature available in events/DLCs. Mad Monster: A creature with sharp teeth and a macabre appearance. Poop Follower: A literal creature in the shape of feces, unlocked after feeding its followers exotic meals. Sozo / Mushroom: A fungus-based creature.

In the camp, various people work; you can work tending the vegetable garden and the medicinal herb garden, you can also work as a hunter, cleaner, cook, watchman, teacher of occult arts, miner, lumberjack, and others.

The religious camp has several cabins of different sizes for all members. There are some altars, tents, prayer ambushes, etc.

In the temple, using the Commandment Stones, the moral rules of their worship are established. There are 5 categories: Feeding: This determines whether they accept fasting or become cannibals. Life After Death: It defines whether they celebrate the dead or prefer sacrifice. Work and Enlightenment: This defines whether they work more or prioritize devotion. Law and Order: Unlocks rituals such as marriage or ascension rituals. Possessions and Property: Defines the focus on gold and buildings.

The mating tent is a large tent used for the reproduction of the faithful. The cult leader makes a careful selection to ensure they produce the best children. Babies come from eggs, and after they hatch, they become children.
