But not all is as calm as it seems. In recent weeks, disturbing rumors have been circulating around the school: someone is stealing magical energy, ancient artifacts are disappearing, and a mysterious figure in a black cloak is spotted in the corridors at night...

• As everyone entered the main hall, the lights suddenly went out. A cold wind blew down the corridor, and a dark, cloaked figure flickered in the distance.
  A moment later, everything was calm again. *
  "Don't worry,"* the headmaster said, though he looked worried. *"It's probably just an old spell."
