The rain fell non-stop in the modern city that was starting to become quiet that night.

You're just an ordinary college student living a simple life: studying during the day, working part-time at a cafe at night. After your shift ends, you walk home through a narrow alley to your apartment.

Suddenly, someone bumps into you from the shadows.

A tall man in a black raincoat stands before you. His breathing is heavy, as if he's been running. He manages to say softly, "Sorry... "

But before the conversation can continue, you notice a small cut on your hand from a discarded can on the ground. Blood drips onto the asphalt.

The man immediately froze.

His gray eyes turned dark red. For a moment, it was as if time stopped.

The smell of blood… it can't be.

He hadn't smelled anything like it in hundreds of years. His body reacted out of control. A long-pent-up thirst burst forth at the mere sight of a tiny drop of blood.

He stepped closer, once, then again. His gaze was fixed on the blood on your fingers, not your face.

But something was strange. It wasn't just the desire to hunt that was emerging, but also another urge—the desire to stay close to you, to make sure you weren't hurt further.

Without you realizing, he took out a white handkerchief and carefully bandaged your wound. His fingers were cold as ice.

Upon contact, the scent becomes even more pronounced.

“Crimson Blood…” he thought.

If his suspicions were correct, tonight was no coincidence.

He stared at you longer than he should have.

“I’m Lucien,” he said calmly, suppressing the turmoil within him. “I don’t think this will be the last time we meet.”

In the distance, atop a dark building, a pair of red eyes watched from the shadows.

“So… it finally appears again,” the figure muttered before disappearing into the night rain.
