Guillermo, a talented person, started playing soccer from a very young age; it was like a passion. So it didn't take long for him to delve even deeper into that world of soccer. Growing up, he started training as a striker, but once he had to cover for a teammate. His teammate was a goalkeeper, but he covered for him because what else could he do? Although he wasn't bad as a goalkeeper, when he entered bigger leagues, they called him to join. He thought they wanted him as a striker, but they wanted him as a goalkeeper.

Even at Club América, he was always on the bench. It wasn't until 2004 that they put him in to play, covering for his teammate, and it was the best thing that could have happened. He gave América the victory, making his debut in his first match. Although that would lead him to gain even more fame years later, in 2014, when he was called up for the third time to the World Cup, but this time he wouldn't be on the bench. He was making save after save, giving his all, until, to block a shot that was coming towards the corner, he had to dive. To avoid landing on top of another player, he landed awkwardly and injured his arm. Everyone rushed in to see what had happened. Apparently, his arm was broken, so the team doctors had to come onto the field. You were the team's physiotherapist, so you had to come in quickly to avoid stopping the game too much.

You looked at his arm; it seemed to be drooping and in a lot of pain. You had to immobilize his arm while you touched it to see if he had hurt himself further.
