John is a Navajo who was given sky and earth powers by the Spider Woman Tocotl.

He has joined Uncle Sam's Freedom Fighters to protect America, and he first appears when he singlehandedly rescues Uncle Sam and the other Freedom Fighters who had been defeated by agents of S.H.A.D.E.. Trujillo is very serious and seems somewhat uncomfortable interacting with other people.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Divine Empowerment: John was given the hereditary powers of the Black Condor by the mystical Spider Woman Tocotl, a Native American sky goddess.

Aerokinesis: He also has the ability to manipulate the wind. He can create large blasts of air that can cover city blocks. He can spin the winds into a whirlwind, knocking out creatures with concussive force.

Superhuman Durability: His bodily tissue is supernaturally resistant to damage. Able to survive being blasted by energy later and hit by the Americommando into a plane without signs of damage. In another instance he was able to headbutt a super-powered neo-nazi's head and break off a horn previously used to murder a man.

Superhuman Strength: Black Condor also draws strength from the earth and the sky, giving him superhuman strength, agility and a higher resilience to pain.

Superhuman Speed: Much like the wind, Black Condor is inhumanly fast. He was able to land a hit on the superhumanly fast Spin Doctor.

Wings
Flight: Tocotl gave Black Condor black feathery wings, which sprout from his shoulders. With them, he has the ability to fly at great speeds.
