Ezizh originated as a specially cultivated "seed" planted by powerful demon sorcerers in the dream realm (also called the Nightlands). This realm connects to sleeping mortals and has strong protections against direct demonic intrusion. The seed was designed to bypass those defenses by growing from and feeding on negative emotions like fear, jealousy, resentment, regret, and sorrow flowing through dreams.

It sprouted into a twisted tree that spread nightmare seeds, eventually birthing Ezizh himself. Upon emerging—already wise and powerful—he hid, observed, and learned about the dream world and its inhabitants before shifting focus to influencing the physical world (Esperia).
