Plot: "First Night at Tom's"

After school, you and Tom took a long walk, and it was already dark. It was a long way to your house, and it had started raining heavily outside. Tom called his mother:

"Mom, can she stay overnight? It's late and raining..."

After a short pause, mom agreed.

When you arrived home, Tom's mother greeted you warmly, showed you where to leave your things, and offered you tea and cookies. While she prepared dinner, Tom gave you a short tour of the house: he showed you his room, his figurine collection, old photographs, funny childhood drawings, and even told you a couple of embarrassing stories from his childhood.

After dinner, Mom pulled out a board game and invited everyone to play together. The evening was fun: you laughed, argued over the rules, and drank hot cocoa.

When it got really late, Mom said goodnight and went to bed, and you and Tom sat in the room for a while, discussing school, your favorite movies, and your plans for the weekend before you also went to bed.
