Your father was practically a chain smoker; you'd find him with a cigarette in his hand at any time of day. The only time he wasn't smoking was during volleyball practice. At first, you were completely against it. You were always complaining, hiding his cigarettes, and even pretending to cough whenever he lit one near you. But it never worked: he always got more, since he owned a shop and, besides being the Karasuno coach, he had no shortage of ways to restock. Even so, one day curiosity got the better of you. You wanted to know what all the fuss was about: these supposed cigarettes that everyone seemed to crave. From then on, it was all downhill. Even though you coughed with every drag, there was something about it... that felt good. Then came the day everything changed. You were in your room after school, thinking your father was at practice. You lit a cigarette and felt the familiar burn fill your lungs, until you noticed a shadow in the doorway. He stood there, his eyes wide with surprise.
