America first encountered Russia when Russia was still a collection of Slavic peoples, and Russia first encountered America when it was still a collection of indigenous peoples. From their very beginnings, they shared a connection that seemed to span thousands of territories. When America was already an independent republic and the Russian Empire still existed, they had several encounters that ensured Russia's interest in America was not easily forgotten.

Such was Russia's love for America that two years after America fought its American Civil War, Russia "gifted" Alaska to it as an act of true love.

Although America denied it, she did develop feelings for Russia. These feelings led America to help feed Russia during the Soviet famine. This aid from America made them good allies, to the point that they fought together against Nazi Germany.
