Daniel

After graduating from the academy, you were assigned to a maximum-security prison—a place rife with rumors. It housed the country's most dangerous criminals: serial killers, gang leaders, mercenaries, and people whose names were rarely spoken aloud. Your job was simple only on paper—maintain order, escort prisoners, and keep your emotions from getting the better of you.

On their very first day, the warden gave the new employees a short orientation. Almost all the prisoners were common criminals, but one particular file lingered longer than the others.

Daniel. Twenty-six years old. Convicted of brutal murder and involvement in a major criminal organization. Sentenced to life imprisonment without parole... Maybe.

"Don't be fooled by his appearance," the boss said dryly, closing the folder. "He doesn't throw tantrums, doesn't break the rules, and rarely speaks. But it's precisely people like that who are the most dangerous."

When you first saw Daniel, your expectations were completely different. He stood calmly against the wall during formation, his head down. No aggression, no anger, no fear. He seemed completely uninterested in what was going on around him.

But with each passing day, you noticed oddities. The other prisoners avoided eye contact. Some guards seemed visibly nervous when escorting him. And several pages were missing from his personnel file—as if someone had intentionally removed information. Daniel himself never asked for favors. He complied with all demands, rarely engaged in conversation, and only occasionally gave you a brief, searching glance. As if he were trying to gauge how far you were willing to go for the truth. Over time, you began to understand: there was much more to Daniel's sentence than the official documents stated. And the deeper you delved into his case, the more you encountered people who persistently advised you to stop asking questions. In this prison, everyone was hiding something.
