Kalim's signature spell is called "Oasis Maker". It can summon a large amount of fresh water, usually in the form of rain, with only a small amount of magic and effort on his part.[7] Kalim is modest about his signature spell, feeling it is not as useful or interesting as other signature spells. However, Azul Ashengrotto strongly disagrees, citing that Oasis Maker could potentially save a lot of people in worlds with water shortages, thus making it a rather lucrative ability.

His black parachute pants have a red fire design near the bottom. Hanging over the pants on his left hip is a maroon piece of fabric with an intricate gold design. The black sneaker-sandals have gold plating near the toe, and a large golden scarab in the center.

The uniform includes a few golden accessories, including a collar necklace, a bracelet, and a shoulder cuff worn on the right shoulder, shaped like a snake. Along with these, Kalim also wears his spiral earrings, several more bracelets, and his anklet. Most of these extra pieces of jewelry have gold discs dangling from them.

Kalim’s signature headband is maroon with a gold trim while in his dorm uniform, and the two feathers on it are dark-red and blue. An extra piece of fabric comes off of the headband, wraps around his neck, and falls behind his left shoulder. The top of the headband is adorned with dark-red jewels, gold beads, and gold discs.

As the housewarden, Kalim’s dorm uniform somewhat differs from the rest of the Scarabia students, the most distinguishing features being his longer jacket and excess of gold jewelry. Kalim also wears dark-red eyeliner along with his regular makeup while in his dorm uniform. The uniform consists of a black and red sleeveless jacket, an undershirt, a yellow belt, black parachute pants, and black sneaker-sandals. The uniform also comes with several gold accessories.

Kalim’s jacket reaches below his knees in length. The jacket has a red underlining, wavy gold stripes on the sides, gold trim, and a red sailor-like collar with a black, wavy stripe along the sides. Kalim also chooses to wear two tank tops as his undershirts. One tank top is off-white, while the larger one underneath is maroon.

Instead of wearing the yellow belt around his waist like usual, Kalim wears his over one shoulder, and leaves the long end hanging down to his ankles. The belt has a silver buckle, and along with black stripes, has the word “Scarabia” repeatedly printed on it. On both ends of the belt are small designs resembling a snake’s head and tail.

Kalim is a shorter-than-average young man with light-brown skin. He has very short, white hair that’s a bit choppy in appearance, as well as short eyebrows. His eyes are garnet-red[1], and he often wears subtle, brown eyeshadow and dark eyeliner with rounded edges. On his shoulders and around the upper parts of his arms are intricate, white body paint markings that resemble henna.

Kalim almost always wears a turban-like headband wrapped around his head. The color and patterning of the headband changes to match his outfit, and it is usually tied with a large bow on his right side. Often connected to his headband are two feathers, the colors of which also change depending on his outfit. Kalim also often wears a variety of gold accessories, including but not limited to spiral earrings, bracelets, and anklets. He is almost always seen with a friendly expression and a big smile.

Kalim's family comes from a long line of merchants. Born into a wealthy and prestigious family, Kalim grew up in a privileged and sheltered environment. However, as the eldest son of his family, he was often the target of kidnappings or food poisoning - the perpetrators sometimes being his own relatives[4]. Kalim has a good relationship with his parents, noting his dad to be always smiling despite being busy with work, and that his mother is very sweet and rarely gets mad.[5]

Kalim also has a lot of younger siblings, and though he lost count of them, he makes sure he remembers each of their names and faces.[6] He has good relationship with his siblings, as whenever he's home, he spends most of his time playing with them.

Growing up, he spent a lot of time with Jamil. They learnt dancing together, and Jamil would help Kalim with his homework. He also often asked Jamil to play various games with him - one of those was a game called Mancala.

During his younger years, Kalim was tutored at home instead of attending school. Kalim started learning magic on his own because he found Jamil's use of magic cool. He tried to imitate Jamil everyday, until he was able to use wind magic on a bird's feather one day. In his family, his mother used to be the only magic user, so when Kalim learnt how to use magic, everyone was overjoyed.[5]

Kalim enrolled at Night Raven College two months after Jamil, as he got an invitation despite never applying to the school. How and why he enrolled hasn't been clearly explained, but it's implied that Crowley took a bribe in order to let Kalim enroll.

When first introduced, Kalim is one of the few students in NRC who is genuinely friendly and cheerful; even known as the most cheerful person in the entire school. He seems to be quite ditsy and clumsy, resulting in needing Jamil's help to do his task as housewarden of Scarabia. Despite his clumsy personality, it is stated by the residents of Scarabia that Kalim is very helpful and supportive of his fellow dorm members, making him respected in Scarabia. However, he is also notably oblivious and naive, and seems to be not very careful with his words, at one point unintentionally insulting Riddle.[2]

Later on, it's revealed by Kalim that he chooses to have a positive outlook on life, because he doesn't want to live constantly being worried or suspicious of the people around him due to his family's status. Kalim is also rather determined and rarely gets discouraged; when he puts his mind into something, he'll put in his best effort. He's also a quick thinker, as he's been shown to come up with a solution fast in sudden situations.

Scarabia is a home to many thoughtful and intellectual students, noted for having a heated rivalry with Octavinelle during written tests. The dorm emphasises the importance of careful deliberation and planning, and its students tend to consider their options before making major decisions.

Woods Behind Campus: A dense forest that seems to grow not only apple trees, but also chestnuts. Students can use this land for harvesting. Ramshackle Dorm: An ancient, abandoned dormitory located within the school's vicinity, currently housing MC and Grim. Ghosts have been living inside the building too, prior to MC's arrival. Although its origins are unknown, the facility have been renovated thanks to some of the students' donations. Mister S's Mystery Shop: Mister S's Mystery Shop is run by Sam. Teachers and students visit the shop to buy snacks or unique items. Sometimes Sam offers special deals, in particular for Octavinelle and Idia. According to Crowley, the teachers get a faculty discount. Lesser-known locations include a chicken coop and a small plot of land with rice paddies, water channels, and a windmill; much like the Botanical Garden, these grounds are seemingly cultivated to secure steady food supplies for the academy.

History Founding Established more than five centuries ago by the human mages of the age, Night Raven College now holds prestige across Twisted Wonderland, alongside its historic sports rival, the Royal Sword Academy. For 99 consecutive years, the latter has reigned as the undisputed champion, consistently defeating Night Raven College in the the annual Inter-School Spelldrive Tournament.

According to an ancient legend, roughly two millennia ago, a great mage dwelt upon the Isle of Sages alongside an apprentice gifted with mighty magic. One day, the apprentice lost control of their powers, but their master, rather than exiling them, admonished them and continued to teach them. To this day, the academies of the Isle of Sages honor this legacy, embracing all who seek redemption and wish to learn from their missteps.

Classrooms: Classrooms accommodate approximately 20 to 30 students. Each student has a specific identification number and classroom sectioning. Ace mentions that first-years rarely ever bump into the third-years. However, some classes can have combined lessons.[11] Laboratory: The laboratory facility is used for Potions classes, but also serves as the Science Club's room for its extracurricular activities. On occasion, students within the same academic year but enrolled in different classes attend combined sessions in this place.[12] Courtyard: Students tend to use the courtyard during their breaks. Practicing magic here is strictly forbidden, as it poses a risk of striking a passersby. Side Street: Connected to the Coliseum and main street. It's usually used for various school festivals. Coliseum: The Coliseum is used for Spelldrive matches and magic exams. It has a barrier to prevent any damage from spreading to the rest of the campus. It's also used for large events such as the Song & Dance Championship. The maintenance and oversight of events hosted within the Coliseum are designated to the sports and arts clubs on a rotational basis. Professionals handle a few specific tasks. However, because the cultural festival is a school event, the students are expected to organize everything themselves.[13][14] Stables: The stables hold horses for the Equestrian Club. The club is also responsible for cleaning the stables.[15]

Main Street: The main street branches off in various directions, but its main path connects to the main building, the Library and the Hall of Mirrors. The statues of the Great Seven line the main street from each side. Library: It has existed since Night Raven College was founded and holds many rare and unique books. Some volumes cost tens of thousands of madols each. It also contains many books from Crowley's priceless collection, which he collected while traveling around the world. Students can not only visit to consult or borrow books to supplement their studies (or out of personal interest), but also hold group or solo study sessions. Hall of Mirrors: Each of the seven dormitories is situated within an individual pocket dimension, accessible via seven designated mirror entryways. The Hall of Mirrors houses these mirrors. Gymnasium and Sports Field: Used for PE Classes and by the Sport Clubs. Located in proximity to the front gate, the Gymnasium is connected to main street, whereas the Sports field is positioned to the rear of this facility and links to side street. Front Gate: The entrance gates of Night Raven College are located a short distance from the bus stop and the Gymnasium. The gates are opened on the first day of class, and black horse-drawn carriages bring the students to the castle. The entrance gates are made of magnificent wrought iron and are flanked by two columns topped with statues of ravens holding a key in their beaks. Botanical Garden: The botanical garden is open to all students to use for growing plants for both potionology classes and personal projects.

Main Building: The castle is the main building of Night Raven College. It has multiple floors and contains the majority of the classrooms. Mirror Chamber: The Mirror Chamber hosts numerous functions and events, such as the entrance ceremony or the housewarden meetings and other school assemblies. It also houses the Dark Mirror. Although protected by a magical barrier, the fairies seem to know how to bypass the room's defenses. Cafeteria: A a large hall used by students and school staff during meal periods. It has grand fireplace that functions via fairies, and an ancient magical chandelier that hangs from the ceiling, enchanted to burn for eternity. Office of Headmage: Located in the highest part of the castle, almost detached from the main building. It has portraits of the Great Seven suspended in mid-air above the desk of the headmage. In this room, Crowley enrolled Grim and MC as a single student. School Infirmary: Students sustaining injuries during the academic year are directed or escorted to the infirmary for medical care. While the infirmary is equipped to treat a wide range of injuries, severe cases must be transferred to Foothill Town hospital for advanced medical care.

Night Raven College, often shortened to NRC, is an all-boys academy and the main setting of Twisted Wonderland. It is a four-year magic educational institution located on top of a mountain on the north side of the Isle of Sages.

The school has a protective spell around its area to protect it from unauthorized visitors and threats. Important places like the Library and the Mirror Chamber are fortified by individual spells.

Description Based on an island near the Land of Dawning, Night Raven College's main building is a castle that's located on top of a hill. Various outbuildings are scattered across the school grounds, such as the Spelldrive Coliseum or the Botanical garden. It also features lawns, forested areas, and a small river with a waterfall.
