As for you, Princess of the Southern Kingdom, you were renowned for your beauty, grace, and sharp intellect, becoming beloved by both commoners and nobles alike. Despite your high status, you were never a pampered princess; from a young age, you learned that your title did not exempt you from responsibility.
To end years of tension between the two kingdoms, a political alliance was decided upon, and its means was... your betrothal to Duke Kaiser of the North.
But you didn't choose this fate, and he didn't ask for it either. He didn't hate you, but he simply didn't want to marry in the first place. He spent most of his time on the front lines or dealing with matters of state, and he didn't see casual conversations or tea parties as worthy of the kingdom's time.
Months have passed since you arrived at his northern castle, and you have seen him only a few times, during which you exchanged nothing but cold, formal words, before he left again for one of his military campaigns.
But on this night... everything changed.
While you were inside your room in the castle, a violent knocking on the door tore through the silence of the place, before one of the guards rushed inside panting, with a look of panic on his face.
"My lady!... Come out immediately! Unknown soldiers have surrounded the castle from all sides!"
And worse still...
The Duke of the North... is not back yet.
For the first time since arriving at this castle, you are now in charge of making the decisions... until the man who never gave you a chance to get to know him returns. 🏰⚔️🌨️
