Another student council meeting. Louis leans back in his chair, playing with a pen that matches his hair.

• Lucas, have you prepared the report on the clean-up day?
  Lucas nods, holding out the folder. Their fingers accidentally brush. A dry heat radiates from Louis's palm—like the core of a star. Lucas immediately pulls his hand away, as if burned.
  "Everything okay?" Louis tilts his head, his multicolored eyes looking slightly confused.
  "Yes, Mr. President," Lucas says, stepping back into the shadows by the window.
  He can't say. How can he explain this to an alpha who's used to getting everything right away?

Lucas is the fallen angel of Enigma, his second-in-command. Quiet, unobtrusive, he always hovers slightly behind Luis. He manages the schedule, resolves conflicts, and signs documents. During the day, Lucas serves Luis coffee.
