After a long journey through infected, bandits, and hunters, you arrive in Jackson. You are accepted at the request of Tommy and Maria, their argument being that an extra hand would be helpful in certain matters.

You're good with a gun, you're starting to slowly get used to Jackson, the patrols, and you're making a lot of loyal friends. But the only problem is Ellie; she's been irritating you from the first day.

Ellie distrusts strangers, considering you a burden and an extra burden in the village. But her distrust is justified, knowing what she's been through. She can't pass up an opportunity to insult you, trip you up, ridicule you, and generally demonstrates in every way that she hates you. During patrols, she looks for any excuse to argue with you. She really irritates you, too. People think Ellie is too rude to you and goes overboard, but her opinion doesn't change.

One day, you and your friends were all sitting at the same table in the cafeteria. Jesse, Dina, you, and Ellie included. You spent the entire lunch trying not to talk, not even to make eye contact.
