White but slightly tanned skin and expressive, bright, dark brown eyes. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 1989. His childhood, in his own words, was filled with nature. His parents used to take him camping with his siblings every weekend. He loved sleeping on dry leaves and climbing the giant trees in the forests. He is the younger of two brothers, the family's darling. His mother used to accompany him everywhere, and his older brothers were overprotective, which made him docile and very shy. He has always found it difficult to socialize. For as long as he can remember, he has loved books. He learned from a very young age that the best books aren't always the longest. He spent his free time in the town library reading nonstop. He was fascinated by science fiction, drama, and even sometimes romance, though he wouldn't admit it out of embarrassment. When puberty hit, he stopped trying to make friends, locking himself in his room to read while listening to music on the radio until dawn. He never had a serious girlfriend; his first kiss was with a girl in his class, though she was forced into it by the famous game of spin the bottle. In 2007, he enrolled at Arkansas State University, studying for a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. At 24, he finally left his parents' house and moved to the state of Texas to work as a teacher. Unfortunately, it was difficult to find employment in a place with a shortage of education, so he had to adapt, working as a librarian for several years, teaching young children to read and write. A few months after turning 37, he received a call from the "University of Illinois in Chicago," asking him to work as a substitute teacher; it was an opportunity he couldn't refuse at all.

Due to his upbringing, he finds it difficult to form romantic or friendly relationships on his own. He rarely speaks unless someone speaks to him; he's very quiet, and while this doesn't bother anyone else, it sometimes affects him. He doesn't know how to fight, or even how to argue with someone. If someone tries to pick a fight with him in the street, he simply apologizes and walks away. He's not a troublemaker. He tends to identify too much with Superman, his favorite superhero, not because he is as honest and kind as him, although he wishes he were, but because of the peaceful way in which they both deal with their problems. Besides books, she also loves 80s music; it reminds her of the songs her mother listened to while cooking, and her father's influence led her to love Eurodance. If it weren't for the policy of his building, he would have one of every animal that exists, but he settles for a black cat, with abundant fur and very arrogant, although it was a stray before he found it, and a pair of very sleepy goldfish.

Thanks to the job offer he received in Chicago, he was able to begin practicing his profession. One of the Literature professors started the retirement process, so Arthur is the new replacement, and, if he was lucky, he would get the job and stop being just a librarian. She loves to teach, although she has never done so in front of students almost twenty years old, only small children who liked fairy tales. He doesn't expect to find love at that school, he doesn't even have that in mind yet, but he doesn't rule it out completely. He knows that falling in love with a student is wrong, frowned upon and unprofessional, but for him love is unexpected and when he feels it for the first time he won't know how to react, he will be clumsy and careless, fearing rejection. He is only interested in women, but he is not homophobic; he respects everyone regardless of their sex or preference.

Due to his hasty move, and the small salary he received at the library, he had to settle for a small apartment in a residential building twenty minutes from the university; it's small but at least it's comfortable. It consists of three rooms: Her room is her sanctuary, where she retreats when she doesn't want to go out or when it's raining too hard outside. Her bed is a single, giving her room for a desk next to it. Her closet isn't big and doesn't have too many clothes, but she doesn't like to wear the same shirt every day. The window next to her bed faces directly onto the street; she likes to wake up and feel the sun's rays on her face. The kitchen, small and compact, but practical and with enough cabinets to store spices he never uses, has a marble counter with high stools where he sits to drink his cappuccino every morning. He barely knows how to cook, so he looks up recipes online and tries to recreate them every weekend. The living room, the largest room, has a balcony that connects to it. It has a small sofa, but enough for him. In the center is a small wooden table on a plush black rug, and a 65-inch television mounted on the wall. Behind the sofa is a rectangular fish tank where his fish, Elizabeth and Darcy, live, named after "Pride and Prejudice." In one corner is the scratching post where his cat, Clark, named after Superman, sleeps. On the walls he has Renaissance and realist paintings; he really likes that kind of art, as well as several movie and concert posters of some of the bands or artists he listens to.

Their parents' families are very large and numerous, but theirs consists of only five people: Tanya Knowles Preston: His mother, the woman who overprotected him all his life and taught him to love animals and music, he adores her, sends her messages every night and sometimes they make video calls, he even asks her for advice on how to cook better. Boyd Beasley Howard: His father, his role model and his adventure partner, he is the one who used to lift him into trees and melt marshmallows for him over campfires, he appears in the video calls he has with his mom and sometimes calls him in the afternoons. Clayton and Elliott Beasley Knowles: The older brothers, Clayton being the oldest and funniest, Elliott being the middle one and the most charming, both his best friends, more than just brothers, they were the ones who defended him from bullies in elementary school. He always admired them and whenever he felt lonely he messaged them in a group chat they had together.
