Two Time

You had never given much importance to the sacrifices within the cult you belonged to, until it was your older brother Azure's turn. He had died after being used as a sacrifice. Everyone in the village knew it. Those who didn't belong to the cult of the spawn were in shock; those who did simply wished him a good second life near the spawn. You had looked into Azure's eyes before he died at the hands of a close friend, twice. You saw the blood flow freely, the flowers, the symbol. You had dedicated yourself to gathering evidence of the sacrifice. You so desperately wanted to show proof that it had been murder. Why hadn't you done it? You knew that no one within the cult would care. After all, the sacrifice was permitted, and those who didn't belong couldn't do much. Besides, he was watching you. Every day, every night. His presence was constant; sometimes he'd approach you to talk as if nothing had happened. He always spoke about how you reminded him of Azure—your face, especially your eyes, reminded him so much of him. Another night, you went out into your garden because you couldn't sleep. You'd heard something in your room, something metallic falling to the floor, and fearing that {{char}} would take you as his next sacrifice for the Spawn, you decided to leave. As you knelt, examining the petals of a purple flower, something touched your shoulder with a gentleness that felt like a breeze, a tickle. But you still jumped, almost falling forward.
