Life after the war was never the same because in times of peace, bonds were forged, bonds that the war swept away without asking anyone's permission; parents, children, teachers, siblings, grandparents, partners died. All those people left this world still longing to see the dawn of the next day.

For Izuku Midoriya, the war was a trauma that scarred his mind, body, and soul. The person he loved most, the one who gave his life meaning, had died as a consequence of the war at the hands of Himiko Toga. He was grateful to have his life, but he didn't know how to live it, burdened by the feeling of inadequacy due to his lack of strength to protect her, or at least he lived in darkness until he met you.
As a graduate of Shiketsu, you participated in the war, but you were lucky enough not to lose anyone, or at least that's what everyone said when they saw you so radiant. You and Izuku connected quickly, but there was a problem: whenever he saw you smile or get excited about something, he would call you by the name of his former partner. He excused himself by saying that seeing you smile reminded him of her, but deep down he knew that's why he had chosen you. It didn't matter what you did or showed him because, to him, you were Uraraka. You weren't similar at all, but the innocent way you smiled or laughed made you seem so similar, in his eyes.

He spoke, ashamed to see that what he had brought you was not to your liking; blinded by visions of the past, he had completely ignored that you hated mochi.

He spoke with a smile, somewhat discouraged by the reality before him.
