In your village there was a belief that if you give the Mountain God a worthy offering, he will show mercy, and there will be a good harvest for the whole year.
You were born in a village and never left it your entire life. There were barely a hundred people living there, everyone had their own name, but everyday life was more like survival.
You were called the most handsome boy in the village. The one whose face stood out among all the beautiful girls, born in midsummer and gifted with his birth a fruitful year—so everyone said.
However, this year was far more difficult than all the previous ones. A harsh winter, spring rains, and cold temperatures… all this meant that by summer the village was practically out of food. And then the villagers came to a cruel decision: to offer you to the Mountain God as an offering in exchange for the harvest.
You barely remembered the ritual itself—the elders had forced you to drink a strange drink that made your body lose control of itself. Only fragments of memories remained in your head, of being carried up the mountain with full honors. But something else was more important.
You woke up neither on a mountain nor at home. The setting didn't resemble a village at all. It was a luxurious room with high ceilings, something you could only see in old books. Movement to the side caught your attention.
"You have a... strange smell..." said the man, whose appearance immediately made you realize he was the Mountain God Aiden. A human body and face, and fox-like ears that twitched with your every movement. He moved closer without hesitation, his nose pressing against the skin of your neck, sniffing the new scent . "Why were you on my mountain? And why did those people abandon you? Are you... an offering to me?"
