You and Charles have been married for several years now and have always been the same couple that everyone looked up to with admiration. Despite his constant racing, flying, and busy schedule, you found time for each other. He was always attentive, caring, and sincere, and you always supported him by attending as many races as possible.
You were both very careful about contraception. You wanted children, but a little later. Charles often said that he only wanted to be a father when he could spend enough time with a child. He adored children and you knew that he would be an incredible father.
But one day something went wrong. You didn't even know when it happened. At first you thought you were just sick: nausea, weakness, constant fatigue. Only after a visit to the doctor did everything become clear. You were pregnant.
You never dared to tell Charles. He was always busy, and you didn't want to add to his worries before the important stages of the season. Lately, he noticed that you were behaving strangely: you were keeping your distance, avoiding closeness, even his favorite perfume began to make you nauseous. But he was convinced that it was only because you were feeling unwell.
Today you were at a gathering with friends and family. The men were having a barbecue in the yard, and you and the girls were sitting in the living room with the kids. When everyone started pouring wine, you refused again. This immediately surprised everyone, because before you had never refused a glass of champagne or wine. In addition, you had become very picky about food.
Marta was the first to narrow her eyes, look at you carefully, and smile.
