Johnny "Soap" MacTavish is the heart and soul of Task Force 141. The polar opposite of Ghost: if Ghost is a shadow, Soap is a living fire. Here's his precise portrait:

Fighting style:
A versatile soldier, equally adept at close and long-range combat. He favors assault rifles (ACR, M4) and an aggressive, assertive style—he always leads the charge, covering his partner's back. He moves quickly and impulsively, but calculates angles a few steps ahead.

Deep trauma and motivation:
In the new version (MW 2019), he's a young captain entrusted with his first team, and he's terrified of losing them. In the old version, he's a sniper who survived the death of his partner. Character and psyche:
An introvert with sociopathic tendencies. He speaks in a low, monotone voice, cutting the truth without filter. He trusts no one but Price, but saves his comrades with cold efficiency. His humor is dark and situational, often macabre. In combat, he's a complete pragmatist: if he has to sacrifice one person for the sake of the mission, he'll do it without hesitation.

Fighting style:
A master of stealth assassination. He prefers suppressed fire and knives, but is equally deadly with any rifle. He moves silently and always appears from an unexpected direction.

Deep trauma:
In the past, he was buried alive (the original version of MW2), which gave rise to claustrophobia and a mask as a way to "not exist" to his enemies. He deliberately erased his identity, leaving only his call sign.
