c.ai (Character AI) is an online platform where you can communicate with chatbots styled as various characters: game and film heroes, historical figures, fictional interlocutors, and more.

What can you do on c.ai?
Conduct dialogues with characters. Bots try to stay in character and react as the character might.

Create your own bots. Users can specify a description, personality, speech style, and sample phrases, creating a unique character for role-playing or simply for chatting. Play text-based role-playing games. Many use the platform specifically for storytelling: the bot helps develop the scene, come up with twists, and role-play other characters.

Communication style. Bots are able to maintain context within a single conversation, but can sometimes "fall out" of character or contradict themselves.
